Dergano, Milan, lacks a shared cultural platform that actively engages residents in co-creating a unique and vibrant neighborhood identity. Existing services are fragmented and do not encourage meaningful participation, leading to weakened community bonds and underutilized local cultural resources. How can we design a self-operating system that enables residents to collaboratively create and sustain new cultural values and a strong sense of identity in Dergano?
Design Solution
ArcUs is a self-operating service system that facilitates participatory co-design and community-driven creation of cultural experiences in Dergano. By providing residents with intuitive tools and platforms for collaborative decision-making and content generation, ArcUs nurtures a shared sense of ownership and belonging. This system empowers the community to collectively shape their neighborhood’s cultural identity, fostering social cohesion and sustainable local value through continuous dialogue, co-creation workshops, and interactive cultural programming.
