Voxee 2019
Design Problem
How can we design engaging and developmentally appropriate digital experiences to support auditory therapy for children aged 5–7 with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), in a way that maintains attention, encourages repetition, and complements clinical interventions?
Design Solution
Voxee is a digital therapy aid developed using child-centered design, involving stakeholder interviews, task analysis, and low-fidelity playtesting. The platform features game-based auditory exercises designed to improve sound discrimination, sequencing, and listening comprehension. Through iterative usability testing and the application of gamification and cognitive load principles, Voxee delivers a focused, playful, and therapeutically aligned experience tailored to the needs of young children with APD.
UX Process
Desk Research (APD & Child Therapy) > Expert Interviews (Therapists & Parents) > User Needs Analysis > Persona Development (Child & Adult) > User Scenario Mapping > Accessibility Benchmarking > Co-design with Therapists > Paper Prototyping > Interaction Design > Playtesting Sessions > Usability Testing with Caregiver Observation > Iterative Refinement
Voxee is a product design project that offers games for 5-7 years old children with auditory processing disorder (APD) to facilitate their therapy.
